MAC 799 - Filament Winding Lubricant


MAC-799 is an aqueous dispersion of finely divided particles of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). It will air cure in minutes providing a dry, colorless film with excellent lubricating properties and a low coefficient of friction.

Application Method:

    Use as received or dilute with water if your application requires low viscosity. Mix well before applying and periodically during application. Apply a thin, even film on the mandrel surface. Product should be applied to a clean, dry mandrel by spraying, wiping, dipping or brushing. External heat can be used to speed up drying time.

Safety and Handling:

    The Safety Data Sheet for MAC-799 should be reviewed prior to use. The active ingredients in MAC-799 are essentially nontoxic but heating the solids above 550°F may result in formation of potentially harmful substances. Smoking should not be permitted while using the product and contamination of tobacco products should be avoided. Safety glasses and gloves are recommended when using this product. Freezing of the product should be avoided, but if freezing occurs, it is possible to restore product uniformity with mechanical agitation.
