MAC 1038 - Aggregate Mold Release Agent

MAC-1038 acts as both porosity-eliminating mold sealer and durable release coating. MAC-1038 will dramatically improve the efficiency of manufacturing operations by combining sealing and releasing into one step and allowing for multiple releases per application.

Technical Data:

  • Color and appearance - Clear liquid
  • Dilutant - Heptane
  • Specific gravity - 0.7
  • Weight per gallon (lbs.) - 5.9

Application Method:

We recommend you apply the product to a clean, dry mold but it can also be applied over previous semi-permanent release coatings. Apply a thin, even coating by spraying, brushing or wiping (clean, dry, lint-free cloth). Apply two to three base coats. Allow 5-minutes between coats for solvent evaporation. After the final coat is applied, allow at least 30 minutes for the coating to cure. Accelerate curing by heating the mold to 250°F for five-minutes. Drying/curing times will vary with ambient temperatures and humidity. Reapply after the first two or three pulls for best results. Additional touch-up coats may be applied to increase cure longevity.

Safety and Handling:

The Safety Data Sheet for MAC-1038 should be reviewed before using the product. MAC-1038 has a low order of toxicity. Care should be taken that good industrial hygiene practices are observed when using the product. Product contains flammable solvents that should be stored in a cool, dry environment.
