McLube 1700L - Release Agent & Lubricant

McLube 1700L is a hard, dry, durable release coating effective on metal and nonmetallic molds up to 550°F. This product is an effective release coating for all plastic and rubber compounds and dries exceptionally fast-ideal for low-temperature processes. A low coefficient of friction also makes 1700L an ideal lubricant and anti-tack coating.

Technical Data:

  • Color and appearance - White, translucent dispersion
  • Dispersing medium - Solvent blend - heptane, ethanol, butyl acetate
  • Specific gravity - 0.78
  • Weight per gallon (lbs.) - 6.5

Application Method:

Apply as delivered to a clean, dry mold free of previous release agents and grim. We recommend using a cleaning solvent to properly cleanse the mold. Mix the product well before use and periodically during application. Spray, brush or wipe a thin, even coat onto the mold; apply a second coat to unconditioned molds after the first dries. Once the mold is conditioned, multiple releases per application may be possible.

Safety and Handling:

Review the Safety Data Sheet before use. 1700L is a solvent-based release agent and should be kept away from heat, sparks and flames. Use only with adequate ventilation in enclosed areas. The active ingredient is essentially nontoxic but temperatures above 550°F may cause formation of harmful substances. Smoking should not be permitted while using McLube 1700L and contamination of tobacco products should be avoided. Always wear appropriate safety equipment when handling the product.
