McLube 1700L- Dry Lubricant & Mold Release


PTFE-based dry lubricant and mold release designed to enhance mold flow characteristics.

Technical Data:

  • Color and appearance - White, translucent dispersion
  • Dispersing medium - Solvent blend - heptane, ethanol, butyl acetate
  • Specific gravity - 0.78
  • Weight per gallon (lbs.) - 6.5

Application Method:

    Apply to a clean, dry surface. All traces of prior release agents should be removed with an appropriate solvent. We recommend our McLube Mold Cleaner. McLube 1700L is intended for use as supplied. Mix the product before use and periodically during application. Use any conventional application method- spraying, dipping, wiping or brushing. A thin, even coating should be applied and, after the solvent has evaporated, a second coat is recommended. Apply a coat of 1700L every cycle for the first few cycles to condition the mold and then switch to multiple releases per application.

Safety and Handling:

    The Safety Data Sheet for McLube 1700L should be reviewed before use. This product is flammable and should be kept away from heat, sparks and flames. Use only with adequate ventilation in enclosed areas. The active ingredient is essentially nontoxic but temperatures above 550°F may cause formation of harmful substances. Always wear appropriate safety equipment when using this product.
