California Proposition 65, or the Safe Drinking Water & Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, was introduced to protect California’s drinking water sources from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, and/or reproductive damage. Proposition 65 requires the state to maintain a list of chemicals and make periodic updates as required. Prop 65’s list of chemicals was updated on May 25th, 2018 and some inclusions will effect the mold release and lubrication industry when they become active on August 30th, 2018.
In keeping with our commitment to supply operator-friendly, environmentally conscious products to our customers, McLube’s water-based products do not contain any detectable traces of the listed chemicals in Prop 65.
