McLube 1777 - Concentrated Mold Release


1777 is a water-based release coating supplied as a concentrate. This product is a PTFE dispersion designed to release the most difficult rubber parts.

Technical Data:

  • Color and appearance - Thick, white fluid dispersion
  • Dispersing medium - Water
  • Specific gravity - 1.0
  • Weight per gallon (lbs.) - 8.5

Application Method:

    This product should be diluted. One-part McLube to two-parts water is suggested; further dilution is possible but will depend on the specific process and compound. Mix prior to use and periodically during application. Apply the product to a clean, dry mold. Wipe, spray or brush the product onto the desired surface. For best results, apply the product to a hot mold to facilitate evaporation and save time.

Safety and Handling:

    Review the Safety Data Sheet before using the product. The active ingredients in 1777 are essentially non-toxic but temperatures above 550°F may cause harmful fumes. Smoking should not be permitted while using the product and contamination of tobacco products should be avoided. Keep the product from freezing. If the product does freeze, vigorously agitate the product before use.
