McLube 1782 - Silicone Rubber Release Agent and Anti-tack Coating

McLube 1782 is a dispersion of solids in water used as a release coating for virtually all compounds and parts. This product is a particularly effective release coating for silicone rubber and anti-tack coating for uncured rubber.

Technical Data:

  • Color and appearance - Thick, white fluid dispersion
  • Dispersing medium - Water
  • Specific gravity - 1.0
  • Weight per gallon (lbs.) - 8.4

Application Method:

Dilute this product with water; we recommend a ratio of one-part McLube to two-parts water for preliminary tests and use. Higher dilutions may be possible depending on your materials and process. Mix the product well before use and periodically during application. Apply the diluted product to a clean, dry surface free of previous release coatings. A solvent cleaner will help prepare the mold. Spray 1782 onto a hot mold for optimum results. Use a low pressure spray to facilitate wetting and avoid dispersion bounce. The product can also be brushed or wiped onto the intended surface. Over-application should be avoided to prevent accumulation and running of the dispersion. Apply two coats on an unconditioned mold and reapply one-coat as needed.

ANTI-TACK APPLICATION: Single coating, sprayed or dipped

Safety and Handling:

Review the Safety Data Sheet before use. The product is essentially nontoxic but temperatures above 550°F may cause harmful fumes. Smoking should not be permitted while using the product and contamination of tobacco products should be avoided. Safety glasses and gloves are recommended when using this product. KEEP FROM FREEZING. Restore uniformity of frozen product with mechanical agitation.
