McLube 1700L - Lubricant & Mold Release


McLube 1700L is a solvent-based dispersion with a low coefficient of friction and excellent anti-stick/release characteristics. The product is effective with all types of rubber and plastic compounds and dries exceptionally fast.

Technical Data:

  • Color and appearance - White, translucent dispersion
  • Dispersing medium - Solvent blend: heptane, ethanol, butyl acetate
  • Specific gravity - 0.78
  • Weight per gallon (lbs.) - 6.5

Application Method:

    Apply the product to a clean, dry surface. We recommend you use a solvent cleaner to prepare the mold for application. McLube 1700L is intended for use as supplied. Mix the product well before use and periodically during application. Any conventional application method can be used-spraying, dipping, wiping or brushing. Apply two thin, even coatings to unconditioned molds. Multiple releases per cycle are likely once the mold has been properly conditioned.

Safety and Handling:

    Review the Safety Data Sheet before use. 1700L is flammable and should be kept away from heat, sparks, and flames. Use only with adequate ventilation in enclosed areas. The active ingredients are essentially nontoxic, but temperatures in excess of 550°F may create harmful fumes. Smoking should not be permitted while using McLube 1700L and contamination of tobacco products should be avoided. Appropriate safety equipment should be worn at all times when handling the product.
