McLube 1708L Dry Film Moly & PTFE Bonded Lubricant. Aerosol Spray & Bulk Packaging

Description:

Solvent based bonded dry film moly and PTFE lubricant coating containing molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and PTFE solid lubricants. Provides excellent lubricity and durability by producing a hard, dry, durable coating for all metal surfaces which may be exposed to moisture, reactive chemicals or active solvents. The synergistic effects of molybdenum disulfide and PTFE provide superior lubricating properties compared to either by itself. NSN 9150-01-526-4191

Technical Data:

Application Method:

McLube 1708L moly and PTFE lubricant is intended for use as received. Since the product is a dispersion, it settles on standing. It is necessary to mix the product thoroughly prior to and periodically during use. If the material has not been standing for too long a period, simple hand mixing may redisperse the solids satisfactorily; however, after longer storage periods, mechanical stirring is recommended. Surfaces to be coated should be clean and dry. McLube Mold Cleaner may be used. Any conventional application method can be employed - brushing, dipping, wiping or spraying.

Safety and Handling:

The Safety Data Sheet for McLube 1708L should be reviewed before using the product. The precautions to be observed in handling McLube 1708L are those related to the solvent blend in the product - heptane, ethanol, butyl acetate. These solvents are flammable, and thus, the product should be kept away from heat, sparks and flames. Use only with adequate ventilation, especially in enclosed areas. The active ingredients in McLube 1708L are essentially nontoxic, but heating above 550°F may result in formation of potentially harmful substances. Smoking should not be permitted while using this product and contamination of tobacco products should be avoided. Safety glasses and gloves are recommended when using this product.
