McLube 1733H - Mold Release & Lubricant

McLube 1733H is a solvent dispersion of PTFE that dries in seconds and leaves a durable, colorless coating with excellent release and anti-stick characteristics. The coating is flexible and particularly suited for use on nonmetallic molds such as epoxy, polyester, and silicone. This product will prevent the buildup of resins, inks, and adhesives. It is especially effective for release of polyurethane compounds and fiberglass composites.

Technical Data:

  • Color and appearance - White, translucent dispersion
  • Dispersing medium - Heptane
  • Specific gravity - 0.73
  • Weight per gallon (lbs.) - 6.1

Application Method:

The surface to be coated should be clean and free from grease, oil, dirt and all traces of prior release agents. We recommend a solvent cleaner be used to effectively clean the mold. McLube 1733H is intended for use as received. Mix the product well before application and periodically during use. Any conventional method can be used for application - spraying, dipping, wiping or brushing. Apply two coatings on a fresh mold. Allow time for the first coat to dry before applying the second. Coat the mold every cycle for the first few cycles to condition the mold. Once the mold is conditioned, multiple releases per application may be attained.

Safety and Handling:

Review the Safety Data Sheet before using McLube 1733H. The product should be kept away from heat, sparks, and flames. Use only with adequate ventilation when in enclosed areas. The active ingredient is essentially non-toxic but heating above 550°F may cause the formation of potentially harmful substances. Smoking should not be permitted while using McLube 1733H, and contamination of tobacco products should be avoided. Always wear the appropriate safety equipment when using the product.
