Applications

Pressing, Molding, and Continuous Processes

McLube® products for PU-bound crumb rubber are specifically designed to withstand the high heat and pressure conditions of compression molds and presses in this industry. Our coatings are also used in continuous processes involving rollers, drums, mandrels, and other process equipment used to make crumb rubber sheets and mats. Our release agents for polyurethane bonded crumb rubber are ideal for spray or wipe-on application and have proven to reduce release consumption for many customers with multiple releases per application and improved affinity for the mold and/or equipment surface.

Crumb rubber re-bonders use a variety of custom processes to give their products unique qualities, such as improved durability, weather resistance, UV protection, and antimicrobial surfaces. McLube® understands the diversity of the crumb rubber re-bonding industry and has the industry knowledge and expertise necessary to help manufacturers achieve their process goals. Contact McLube® today for samples of our existing products for crumb rubber re-bonding and ask about custom formulations for new or developing processes and applications.

Wet-lay Processes

Running tracks, sports surfaces, and other play surfaces may be wet-laid directly on site, a process similar to road pavement. McLube® release agents for re-bonded crumb rubber may be used to prevent material from sticking to machinery, beds, chutes, tools, or any other surface where undue buildup occurs. Current customers report spending less time cleaning equipment and tools during installation and at the end of the day when using our products. Contact McLube® to learn more about how our products can help your wet-lay process.

Mix Tank Applications

McLube® release agents can be applied to PU/crumb rubber mix tanks to prevent sticking and aid material integration prior to molding and processing. McLube® anti-sticking agents will not chemically interfere with prepolymer wetting of the rubber. In some cases, customers may use the same release agent applied to their tooling to prevent compound adherence to mixing tanks or any other equipment used to transfer the mix to the production line. Contact McLube® and one of our experienced Technical Representatives will help you eliminate tenacious buildup in your process.
