Tire bladders can suffer significant physical and chemical abrasion during the curing process which, if not prevented, can cause defects on the tire and shorten the bladder’s lifespan. Tire bladders experience the most abrasion at or near the surface of the bladder that comes into contact with the tire “bead,” the edge of the tire that will eventually fix into a groove on the wheel allowing it to inflate.
McLube® has developed a line of highly durable bladder coatings that are designed to protect the bladder against physical and chemical abrasion during the curing process to extend its effective lifespan and eliminate defects. McLube® also offers bladder touch-up lubricants for application overtop of our bladder coatings to add additional slip for startup on new bladders.
